For user and patients
Ultraviolet radiation, or UV for short, describes wavelengths in the range of approx. 180–380 nm.
This UV range is divided into three groups:
UV-A radiation 380–315 nm
UV-B radiation 315–280 nm
UV-C radiation 280–180 nm
Fluorescent and halogen lamps as well as LEDs are also used in dental medicine. These devices have a high blue light content. Blue light has wavelengths of approximately 430–490 nm.
Depending on the duration and type of radiation, appropriate protective products should be used to prevent damage to eyesight. On the following pages, we present some possible products for this purpose.
